So let’s say you have a several columns of data and create a new column that has a forumla.  And you want that new forumla to carry through the entire series in a column like this:

Now typically this is not a problem is you are just trying to copy C5 to a few rows but what if you have thousands?  Ah, Excel has a trick up its sleeve to make this copy and paste easy!  How?

While holding the control key, point to the lower right of the C5 cell and you should see a small new “+” symbol next to your cursor like this:

Now double click (left mouse button) and suddenly the formula will copy down until it finds a break in the nears left column in this case column B.
